Reigning champ Joey Chestnut beat out six-time titleholder Takeru Kobayashi in Coney Island’s annual hot-dog eating contest.
He ate 68 hot dogs in 10 minutes.
Last year’s event ended in a tie with Chestnut, of San Jose, Calif., and Kobayashi, of Japan, both gobbling down 59 hot dogs and buns in 10 minutes. A dramatic five hot dog eat-off ensued with Chestnut emerging victorious.
Saturday’s annual Nathan’s Famous Fourth of July International Hot Dog-eating Contest starts at noon.
OK, Monti, I’ll say if for you: So much for those who said Joey can’t cut the mustard against Kobayashi!
