Obtaining passage of that constitutional amendment is the waging of political war. Like a shooting war, it will change history—in this instance a vast change for the better—for the nation and our children and their unborn descendants.
I totally agree that Congress needs term limits. Reps and Senators on both sides of the aisle have to worry about getting re-elected and therefore favor short-sighted quick fixes that sound great to voters but ultimately don’t fix a damn thing. Their focus becomes doing what they have to do to hold on to their power and not doing what they have to do to really fix this country.
If Reps and Senators reach a point where they can’t run for re-election, maybe then they’ll have the you-know-whats to actually accomplish something meaningful and do things that, while risky, will REALLY fix the many problems in this country.
